THE USE OF VIRTUAL AND AUGMENTED REALITY TECHNOLOGIES IN TEACHING ENGLISH
Abstract
This scientific thesis examines the role and effectiveness of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies in teaching English as a foreign language. Modern educational environments require innovative teaching methods that increase students’ motivation, communicative competence, and practical language skills. VR creates immersive virtual environments where students can interact with digital objects and communicate in realistic situations, while AR enriches real-world environments with virtual elements such as 3D images, animations, and interactive texts. The research highlights the advantages of integrating VR and AR into English language classrooms, including improved speaking, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary acquisition, and student engagement. In addition, the thesis analyzes the pedagogical significance, practical applications, challenges, and future perspectives of these technologies in modern education.
